*bˀr - to catch, to fish, to hunt (EDA I 94)

Akkadian
baˀāru - to catch, to fish, to hunt (CAD B 2, AHw. 108)
Var.: bâru. Since Bittner 1911, 147, the Akkadian verb is thought to be related to Mhr. bîter “fischen” (Jahn 1902, 250, not in ML), Jib. ebtér “to hunt” (JL 32), Soq. bˁr “pêcher” (LS 92).
Mehri
bîter - fischen (Jahn 1902:250)
Jibbali
ebtér - to hunt
Soqotri
bˁr - pêcher (to fish) (LS 92)

The Soqotri verb, unknown to our informants, seems to be rather reliably attested in Müller 1905:261, l. 15–16.
