*naḥ(a)r- - upper part of chest (SED I No. 196)

Scarce but reliable attestation in South Sem. area.

Arabic
naḥr- - collarbone and the part of the body between the lower neck and the sternum (BK 2 1213)

Note also the meaning ‘vis-à-vis’ (with a semantic shift from ‘breast’ found elsewhere in Sem. -- see *nagd- - bosom, breast No. 195). Cf. manḥūr- ‘part of the body around the collarbone’ [ibid.].

Tigre
näḥar - breast (WTS 324)

According to [Leslau Loanwords 150] probably an Arabism.

Jibbali
náḥar - windpipe and lungs (JL 187)
