*ḫsr - to blunt, to trim (Kogan 2015: 86, Kogan–Krebernik 2021b: 687)

PWS *ḫsr ‘to be deficient; to lose’ has been often compared to Akk. ḫesēru ‘to blunt, to chip, to trim’. If accepted, this comparison certainly implies the priority of the Akkadian meaning and, hence, points to a shared semanitc innovation in PWS
