*gdḥ - to come, to drift ashore (Kogan 2015: 553)

The origin is uncertain. Clearly related is Arb. miǯdaḥ- ‘seashore’, but one may doubt that this extremely rare and isolated word is autochtonous in Arabic (Kogan 2015: 553)
