*ḥVṣ̂n- - lap, bosom (SED I No. 129; Kogan 2011: 218)

Akkadian
ḫaṣānu - to shelter, to receive in a friendly way (CAD Ḫ 129, AHw. 331)

SB, NA, NB lexeme. Unlikely to be autochthonous in view of the irregular ḫ coupled with the late attestation. Rather, we must be faced with WS loanword, even if the exact source of borrowing is not easy to establish (not Aramaism because of ṣ).

Akkadian
ḫiṣnu - protection (CAD Ḫ 203, AHw. 348)

Akkadian
ḫuṣannu - sash (CAD ḫ 259, AHw 361)

Little doubt this is a semantic shift from an unattested anatomical term (for the semantic development, cf. *ḥi/aḳ(ʷ) ‘hip, loin, lap’, No. 113); another meaning shift from ‘bosom, lap’ is likely represented by ḫaṣānu ‘to shelter, receive in a friendly way’ (note ḫ corresponding to Sem. *ḥ).
