Little doubt this is a semantic shift from an unattested anatomical term (for the semantic development, cf. *ḥi/aḳ(ʷ) ‘hip, loin, lap’, No. 113); another meaning shift from ‘bosom, lap’ is likely represented by ḫaṣānu ‘to shelter, receive in a friendly way’ (note ḫ corresponding to Sem. *ḥ).
