Probably a “learned” loanword from Sumerian. The Sum. word does not seem to be attested outside a lexical entry. It consists of BUR ‘(stone) bowl, (stone) vesseľ (PSD B 182), ŠU ‘hand; handle’ and ZA₃(G) ‘side, edge, border’.
