bīˀu, bību - outlet (CAD B 297, AHw. 134)

bību is Ass. Pl. bībū and bībānu. No definitive etymology can be suggested.

Was borrowed into Aramaic and, then, Arabic: JPA byb ‘underground conduit’, JBA bybˀ ‘underground conduit’, Syr. bibā ‘canal’ and Arb. bīb- ‘a course of water leading to a pool’. A presumably related lexeme with a different vocalic and structural shape is attested in JBA bwbytˀ, bbytˀ ‘channel’, Syr. bubyā ‘canal, aqueduct’.
