Hebrew

zarzīr - rooster (HALOT 281)

HapLeg in Pr 30.31 in a highly uncertain context (zarzīr motnayim ‘z. with [girded] loins’). The meaning ‘starling’ seems to be reliably attested in postBiblical Hebrew, however (Jastrow. 413).

PS
*zarzī/ūr- - starling (SED II No. 254)
Scarcely attested, Common Semitic status not fully reliable.
