The interpretation of the expression yršy šḥt (KAI 214:27‒28) is uncertain. As rightly pointed out in Kaufman 1974:89, the meaning of ršy in this phrase comes closer to Akk. rašû (‘to acquire’ > ‘to incur, to commit, to become liable,’ CAD R 198) than to Old Aramaic and later parallels, themselves rather divergent from the semantic point of view.
