Cf. also naǯūd- ‘who has a long neck (camel, donkey, etc.)’ and minǯad- ‘adornment of the woman’s neck, necklace ... going down to the bottom of the breast’ [BK 2 1201-1202].
The term displays a rather straightforward meaning “road,” “path” in the Koranic passage wa-hadaynāhu n-naǯdayni ‘We led him by (one of the) two paths’ (90:10).
