Cannot be separated from Akk. takiltu ‘a blue-purple wooľ, Hbr. tǝkēlät ‘a blueish or violet coloured purple wooľ, CPA twklɁ ‘blue fabric’, JBA tǝkēltā ‘tekhelet color’, Syr. tekltā ‘blue-purple colour’. Their futher etymology is unknown.
