Soqotri
šɛ́dhɛd - X. to be lean, meager (meat) (CSOL I 526)

The morphological background of this verb remains uncertain, its attribution to the causative-reflexive stem of *d-h-d is conjectural. In the perfect, it is said to be different from šɛ́dhəd (yəšɛ́dhəd/ľišɛ́dhɛd) ‘to wave a stick,’ presumably a reduplicated formation from *hdd with an original meaning ‘to threaten with a stick’ (--> yh-d-d/š-d-d).
