Hebrew

mətalləˁōt - jawbones (pl.) (HALOT 654)

Metathetic from -t- infixed stem (cf. constr. *maltəˁōt in Ps 58.7). Cf. lōăˁ, a hapax in Pr 23:2, translated as ‘gullet’ in [HALOT 532]. The context, however, allows for both interpretations, ‘gullet’ and ‘jaw’, the latter supported by the meaning ‘jaw’ attested in Hbr. pB. [Jastrow 700].

PS
*lVγ- - jaw (SED I No. 177)

Usually united with similar forms meaning ‘throat’, ‘to lick’, etc. (see *luγ(γ)-  ‘throat’). Cf. *lVḥy-at- - cheek, jaw No. 178.
