Probably, related with suffixed -­n and a highly specified meaning shift. Note also a variant root with an enigmatic -­d as a third radical: luγd-­ (also luγdūd­, liγdīd­) ‘earlobe, the bottom of the ear; tender flesh between the palate and the swallowing canaľ [ibid. 1005], [WKAS II 883-4].
