The etymology of Proto-EthS *ḥzl ‘to carry’ is uncertain. Shall one tentatively compare Arb. ḥaḏl- = ḥuǯzatu l- ˀizāri wa-l-qamīṣi wa-ṭarafuhu (LA 11 179), from an original meaning “place of carrying”?
