ḥab(a)la - to be dissolute, lustful (CDG 223)

Derived by Leslau from ḥab(a)la ‘to act craftily, tell a lie, plot’ (< Sem. *ḫbl), but probably to be compared to the present root.

PCS
*ḥbl - to be pregnant, conceive; to have labor pains (SED I No. 21v; Kogan 2015: 189; HALOT 286)
cf. SED I Nos. 110 and 21ᵥ for its possible connection with the MSA terms for umbilical cord (such as Mhr. ḥəblēt) and, perhaps, PS *ḥabl- ‘rope.
