*ḳīḳ(-at)- - egg (SED No. 160)

A difficult case. Meanings differ substantially, though all semantic shifts appear plausible, like ‘egg’ > ‘testicle’ in Hbr. pB. (cf. Rus. яичко meaning both ‘little egg’). and ‘testiculus’).

Hebrew
ḳīḳ - abnormally large membrum virile, abnormally large testicles (Jastrow 1367)
Hebrew
ḳayyān - one having abnormally large testicles (Jastrow 1359)
Suggests a non-reduplicated stem underlying Sem. *ḳīḳ(-at)-, which is probably to be reconstructed as *ḳayḳay-.
Arabic
qīqat- - very thin pellicle under the eggshell (BK 2 847)
Arabic
qīqiyy- - white of egg (BK 2 847)
Harari
č̣iḳāy - egg of the louse (EDH 52)
