*ḫiṣr- - little finger
(SED I No. 134, Kogan 2011: 224)
Connected or contaminated with Sem. *ḫṣr ‘to be short’ (on this root see e. g. [CDG 267]). Cf. a metathetic variant root probably related to the MSA forms.
Cf. Akk. (ḫ)arāru ‘to rot, to discharge a putrid liquid, to defecate’.
PWS
*ḫrm - to have a notch, cut in the skin (nose, ear, lip)
(SED I No. 30v)
Likely to be connected with Sem. *ḫrm ‘to cut, split, divide’ (cf. CDG 264, HALOT
354).
PWS
*ḫsr - to be deficient; to lose
(DRS 1012; Kogan 2015: 86)
PWS *ḫsr ‘to be deficient; to lose’ has been often compared to Akk. ḫesēru ‘to blunt, to chip, to trim’. If accepted, this comparison certainly implies the priority of the Akkadian meaning and, hence, points to a shared semanitc innovation in PWS
