Proto-MSA
*hVrā̆m- - tree (Kogan 2015: 44, 544)
The origin is uncertain. Note perhaps Arb. harm- ‘kind of saline plant’, harmā ‘old wood’ as well as Tgr. harämo ‘straw’ (Kogan 2015: 544, fn. 1428).
Proto-MSA
*ḥablat- - umbilical cord (SED I No. 110)
Connection with PCS *ḥbl ‘to be pregnant, conceive; to have labor pains’ is uncertain, see the discussion there.
Proto-MSA
*ḥbr - to be cold (Kogan 2015:557)
The origin is unknown.
Proto-MSA
*ḥāgVl- - eyebrow (Kogan 2015: 557)
The origin is uncertain. One may be tempted to connect it with the verbal root *ḥgl ‘to encircle, to surround’, well attested both within and outside MSA. At the same time, the similarity to Arb. ḥāǯib- ‘eyebrow’ can hardly be accidental.” (Kogan 2015: 557)
Proto-MSA
*ḥilaḳ- - smoke, soot (Kogan 2015:557)
The origin is unknown.
Proto-MSA
*ḥanṣ̂ab-at- - bead (Kogan 2015:558)

Proto-MSA
*ḥašy- - earth, soil (Kogan 2015:558)
“Related to Arb. ḥisan ‘accumulated sand beneath which is hard rock; soft or plain ground in which water remains and collects’, Tna. ḥašäwa ‘sand, strand, sandbank’, Amh. ašäwa, ašawa ‘sand’, Cha. Eža Enm. Gyt. Muh. Sod. Sel. Wol. ašawa, End. ašawä, Msq. Gog. ašäwa ‘sand’ (Kogan 2015: 558)
Proto-MSA
*ḥā̆wVr - black (Kogan 2015: 541)

According to Bulakh 2004:273-274, the term for “black” in Soqotri, as well as in other MSA, can be related to Arb. ḥawar- ‘intense whiteness of white of the eye and intense blackness of the black thereof’, in its turn connected with Common Aramaic *ḥwr ‘to be white’. (Kogan 2015: 541)

Proto-MSA
*ḫll - to sit down (Kogan 2015:596)
Proto-MSA
